This is my first ball machine and I have found it to be excellent. I have used this for many hours in the past year and have never had a ball jam.
From a settings standpoint, you can't use the top speed. The reason is that the ball trajectory angle places the ball to far beyond the baseline, even if you back up the machine a good 10 feet or more. I am not sure why this is the case. Setting at the speed just less than the highest is still very good for practice, and with the sweep on, it is a great workout both for footwork and hitting.

The Lobster Elite is a terrific machine for those who are seriously interested in improving their play. It's highly portable, has a long battery life and it is easily adjusted for speed, frequency of balls, height and random ball placement. It lacks only the ability to apply different types of spin, but that is a small disadvantage given its affordable cost.

Right out of the box, the Lobster Elite Freedom had issues. Its feed knob doesn't work, consequently balls are fired so fast I can't even take my racquet back for a swing. A call to service number resulted in a long wait then I was cut off. Tried again but gave up and modified by taping two of the four feed holes closed.

I am using this product to become more consistent with my strokes. It's also great to be able to practice overheads. Sometimes I use it on sweep and warm up with a friend before a game.

1. 2 - 3 balls get stuck at the back of the feeder - poor design.
2. The charger comes with warnings not to charge more than 12 hours. A hetter designed charger would switch itself off when charge is complete

Great for me (70) and for the grandchildren (7 - 10)
Major criticism is the charger. The standard charger does not work as specified - the light goes on and stays on. The documentation says "DO NOT CHARGE FOR MORE THAN 36 HOURS" - or you will damage the thing. Then it says "You really should have bought the fast charger (costs extra) which handles this problem" I don't like that and worry that I will charge it overnight and then forget it and blow its battery.

My only complaint is that when placed at the baseline, the lobs are too deep unless speed is at minimum, then they are too short.

The only issue I see with the machine is that to get decent ball speed and keep ball in the court, I have to place the machine well behind the baseline. BUT, once I turn on the random oscillating function (side-to-side) then the ball goes way too wide (I have to get it much closer and much less speed). IT WOULD BE NICE IF ALL FUNCTIONS WOULD WORK FROM THE SAME SPOT AT THE SAME SPEED. I use it for drills, so I barely use oscillating function, so not a big issue for me.

This is the best little machine. I've had time to use it only a few times so far, but already I have developed a convenient pattern for charging it, lifting it into the trunk, getting the balls and hopper and machine onto the court, and setting it up. I'm 62 years old and bought this for myself as my retirement-from-teaching gift. It's really fun, and I just love it that when I want to play I don't have to wait for "next Tuesday at 4:00" or whatever. I stick it in the trunk and go. I usually hit about 500 balls each time out, and already I feel more confident about my strokes. It's great exercise. I love the way it waits until you walk to the other side before shooting balls at you.

[...]I have been using this for about 7 months now. It works great and has never jammed. I do find problems in setting at the highest setting and keeping the ball in court. Typically I have to move the machine further from the baseline to make this work. I use this machine every 1-2 weeks and it has been very reliable.

adjustable power or strength and speed is the best feature of this machine, good for a beginner , my 6 and 5 years old kids just love it. And my husband never had a problem finding or calling friends to play with him anymore as he can play with the machine anytime that's convenient for him.
