The SAM works great for me - I live in a highrise building overlooking tennis courts, so I just roll the machine into the elevator and a couple hundred yards over to the courts. I can see the point of the other reviewers who state that if you have to carry the machine outside to your car and put it in the backseat (many trunks have too small an opening), then reassemble when you get to your tennis court, and repeat that process afterwards, that part would be a hassle. Back to the machine - you will want to play with the settings to keep the ball in-bounds on your side of the court at high speeds (hint: lower the elevation). Also the lob attachment is really cool after you figure out the settings, too. My only problem with the mac-daddy SAM P4 is that the remote barely works (yes, I even tested 3 new sets of batteries). It certainly does not work from your baseline. If you go up to the net, it will work 1 out of 5 times. At least when you are at the machine and turn on the Feed button, there is a 60-90 second delay before the balls start shooting, which gives you time to jog from the machine to the other side of the court.

I use this product to stay in shape and work on my technics (backhand/forehand), its great to warm up with before a game (before anybody is there) or if nobody available to play.

PRO's:
wide range of adjustments and controls and good battery life. Remote allows to change or fine tune shot placement in real time.

CON's: No handles for easier loading/unloading in and out of vehicle, but once on ground wheels make transporting easy. Hard to judge backspin on ball when don't have a person on the other end hitting it to see how much they put on it, but you adjust after a few balls

Used the machine 3 times so far and its helped me get back into the game. Unless you have someone else there to toggle with the settings, the remote control is awesome and is a must! The battery life seems as the description states. Highly recommended machine!

I have had my P-4 for 15 months and I must have gotten a lemon. Lots of ball jams early - resolved with different training balls. The remote has worked well maybe one month of my ownership -- antenna and receiver issues. Great tool for a single user "when it works." The batteries died last summer had to send the machine back for repairs. Has had some other power flucuation problems recently. The home company has done cartwheels trying to get the issues resolved to no avail. The warranty has run out, so I am stuck with an underperforming machine. I will say when it does work as advertised it is an amazingly great product.

Machine works fine. The remote control isn't as helpful as I thought it would be, so I just don't use it. It's fun to crank up the topspin or under spin on occasion, but I don't do it that often. I did do the topspin in preparing for a match with an opponent who I knew hits with a lot of topspin. But to no avail. He beat me anyway.
